During this week you will discover some of the hidden secrets of the professionals and how to turn your photographs into award winning images. If you arrive with questions about any aspect of photography you can be sure you will leave with the answers, straight from your own personal experts.
Included in your photography holiday will also be free membership to one of Davids two online photography courses. So you can start learning before you go, or save it for your return, either way these courses will help both beginners and more advanced photographers. The Itinerary here is purely a sample and will depend on which venue and activity you choose.
Buon Giorno! Rise and shine photography lesson to start the day. Breakfast al fresco followed by hands-on cookery lesson and then some lunch. Free time in the afternoon to relax, enjoy the pool or go for a stroll with your camera into the local village. Evening review of your photographs followed by an aperitivo and dinner at the villa.
An early start to catch the sun rising and capture some magical moments. Then off to a wine tasting at Planeta, a leading winemaker in Sicily. We have our private tasting at Ulmo - Planeta's private estate on the shores of Lake Arancio. Time for some fresh air at the ocean (to dissipate the wine fumes!) followed by an early evening photo session on the beach. Appetites awakened its back to the villa for a sumptuous dinner.
This morning David will hold individual photography assessments and lessons. Lunch on the villas' terrace and then some free time. Spend the afternoon to look around the villa or the local town and capture some images using the advice you gained in the morning session. Back for a review and to see if progress has been made. Time for dinner and to reflect on the day and what great images have been captured.
An early breakfast before our departure for the beautiful archeological park of Segesta. Then
onto Castellamare De Golfo for a stroll around this lovely fishing village and lunch. Off to
Tonnaro de Scopello for a swim in crystal clear waters, a tiny jewel of a fishing village made
famous in the movie Oceans 12. In the afternoon we will visit Erice for some local shopping and a stroll around this medieval town and then take the cable car down, returning back to the villa for aperitivo and dinner. A full day of photographic opportunities and challenges for everyone.
Start the day with Photography lesson and breakfast. Followed by your second cookery lesson and lunch. Afternoon relaxing by the pool. Then it's time to pack your camera and head for the beach to capture some early evening shots, followed by dinner at Da Vittorio’s stunning beach side restaurant as the sun begins to set. Giorgio Locatelli recently said .... My favourite place is Da Vittorio Ristorante, a fish restaurant on the beach in Porto Palo di Menfi. There's no menu, but the antipasti might include red prawns, octopus in oil and lemon juice or marinaded anchovies - whatever the fishermen have caught that day - and the mains might be pasta with sea urchins, pasta with mixed seafood, or catch of the day grilled on the barbecue.Daily Telegraph 2015
Another early photo shoot before breakfast. Departure for Marsala and optional wine tasting. Marsala is a lovely Baroque town famous for the dessert wine of the same name, which was actually created by a soap merchant from Liverpool in 1773. Time then for an afternoon boat trip to Mozia island just off the coast to see the amazing salt pans. Returning then to nearby Marsala for a short visit. Then its back to the villa for our farewell dinner. This will be the day when all your new photography skills can come together and you will capture some stunning images throughout the day.
